A new buddy, Laban, that is a retired taxidermist wants to go out for stripers and bring his old fishing partner Mike along. Today the weather finally worked out and we were on the water by 6:15 am. I put out a spread of 8 rods trolling small crankbaits that run around 8'. Wasn't long and Laban hooks up with a nice keeper striper. It was a little slow after that, but we did catch 4 jumbo white perch that were moving up river to spawn. Finally, another rod goes down hard and Mike wrestles another keeper into the boat. We were marking plenty of stripers, but all were hugging the bottom after the cold front moved through last night. Could not get them to commit even jigging right on top of them . We called it a morning around 11 am. Here is Laban and Mike with their haul this morning.
