Unless this storm makes a drastic change, I think George will be the Dulles winner.
Dulles hasn’t reported since 7am, might take a big jump?

I keep forgetting that we do Dulles totals. We have less than 2" here but more reported S and E.

Ruler almost burried. 11.5+" as of 12:30 pm

We had at least 4 inches here. Just finished shoveling and cleaning cars.

Took me just 1/2 hour to clean off cars and driveway. Cars had 2-3" on 'em...driveway and walks were about an inch.
Curly wins the most snow!
Dulles reported 3.9" at 1p!
Sun is out now.
Oh...we gonna do this again later in the week?

Neighbors who didn't shovel their cars out yesterday are now finding them in a block of ice

Curly is still without power. Brrrrr...

Could be worse. Could be on 95 since yesterday like Tim Kaine. Still, sorry for your situation, Curly!

There were a lot of families, some with infants, stuck in that mess.
As we know, Curly has a ton of striper and venison in his freezers. He’s a bit chilly in the house but his food freezers are now connected to a generator. Hard core!

We got a foot in down here in Fauquier. Power has been out since Monday morning, which for us also means no heat pump or water. Fortunately we have a wood stove to keep the house tolerable. Roads were awful this morning and trees were down everywhere. Haven't been to work yet this week.

I hope power is restored soon for you guys. Nightmare.

Amazing how just a few miles south was such a drastic difference in severity. But boy was it cold this morning. Feel terrible for all those without power (except Curly because I figure he has a generator to keep him warm).

Sorry to hear about all of the problems the storm caused. In contrast, I live in Frederick and we didn't even have a flake of snow here. I'm sure we'll get our turn before the winter ends.
Stay safe,

Two days without power so far. Have a generator running the freezers, fridge and the TV from noon to 9 pm each day. Gas fireplace keeps it comfortable, even without the blower fan not going. Bathtub full of water for flushing toilets, and drinking water...........and maybe a sponge bath later today . Probably will not get power until Friday. All is good here

Accokeek had 14 inches and no power 9:30 am on Monday till 12:45 pm yesterday. Burned thru most of my reserve wood heating the house. At 2pm yesterday I promised to light up generator. Luckly I did not need it.
Son in law left work at 9am for a 17 mile commute and got home at 4pm.. terrible traffic.
My commute from bedroom to TV room was UN-eventfull.

Our power came back on last night. What a relief.
Looks like more snow on the way tomorrow night.

Dulles never reported after 1pm. So 3.9" was their total.
Looks like Drxfish wins (4.5")...
Your prize? Atta boy!

well, catching up with everything now. got just a tad over 14 here in stafford and lost power from Monday-Thursday night. Thank goodness for a second power source for heating. Used the tractor to clear the snow and then some. Lost about 6 trees (over 20ft in height) and maybe 3 dozen more that were saplings that just snapped from the weight of snow. All is well though. Nice to have a MIFI, Overland setup truck, and tractor. Met a lot of folks at the local publix (I live off exit 140) from 95 and they were exhausted and spent. I wanted to offer them help, but they were too tired to go anywhere else, so they slept at the hospital, hotel lobby, wherever they could manage....mostly their cars. I had planned a generator setup this past year, but with all that's going on I forgot. I'll get it done with a nice diesel kubota!

What? You have a Publix? They make great subs! Including a decent Cuban.
Glad you have the tools to beat down the snow.
Offline
That sounds like tough going! I would hate to be in that situation. Glad you came through ok.

yes! we have a publix and their sammies are awesome!! The cubans, italians, and those other foreigners.....buffalo chickens! lol just kidding of course. But yeah, the bread....fresh made right there. It really took me away from even thinking about fishing or anything else, but I'm not complaining. I like all four seasons after living in southern california for a bit....

Publix subs are so good!!! If I ever head down that way I will definitely stop by Publix for their subs.
