After dropping off my boat with Jim Starkey in Scottsville, I hightailed to Curly’s place on LKA so we could get a few hours of fishing in.
This is where Curly's boat hangs.
We ran down to the splits and after looking at his fish finding machine, Curly declared that there was a small school of stripers on the starboard side, I made a cast with a 3/4 oz spoon and got hit immediately .
He was short but the skunk was off.
The school moved off and we started hunting them again. Looking at the down scan is as important as looking for birds so we each had a job to do.
But it was dead. No sign of life. except Doug, Curly's neighbor in his nice Sea Hunt CC.
We tried one more place and Curly scored a pretty channel cat.
We returned back to home port just as the sun was dropping down.
Beautiful out for sure!
We ate an excellent dinner of homemade kielbasa, pirogies and sour kraut. The Basil Hayden was smooth
too….
Back at it in the morning.
