Bob and I had planned to go out of Chesapeake Beach this morning. But the forecast kept changing and once I saw them forecast 1-2'ers with winds out of the east, it was time for Plan B.
We decided to go out of Smith's Marina deep in the Severn. Nice ramp but expensive ($20)!
We launched just before 8a...
....and by 8a, the skunk was off!
I caught 1 or 2 more here but I decided it was time to hit one of my favorite places to fish for perch, Brewer Pond.
Bob quickly got his skunk off...
...and now it was game on! Just like the old days!
Many doubles!
And a ton of over 10's and 11"ers!
We fished more parts of Brewer and caught some but were we started was the best area.
Around 10:30-11a, the bite slowed as the tide was running out. I didn't want to risk sucking in some grass in the jet so we boogied down to Hopkins Creek.
We found a few pockets of fish but no size as we were looking for big fish today, not numbers.
We ended the day at Maynadier Creek and found a few nice ones. After nearly getting knocked in the head and into the water with the TM, we called it a day. A very success day both in numbers and size of fish. This was my best day this year for eaters.

Man those are some really nice perch! I'd rather eat them than just about anything else in the bay.

We both were lamenting that we should have brought coolers to take some home. The perch were very well fed as well...fatsos!
