I've gone out for an afternoon smoke and of course, I have to fish.
Been using a 7" Power worm rigged wacky style and the little guys (9-12") have been all over it. Of course, i missed a few too (small guys).
This morning, I decided on a morning smoke and sure enough, they like the wacky! I even caught one that was 1.5lbs or so.
Talking to a couple of the guys that fish here (basscrusher etc), all fish are small.
When I take the fly rod out, I am catching as many small bass as BGs...
I think my cousins had a hay day on these ponds during Covid.

Well, we do have a healthy population of bass that need to grow up.
Next time Curly comes up, I’m hoping to fish with him. To see if we can get some 2#ers, The last 2 times he has been by, I’ve been doing other things.

I do have to qualify my original statements…
1. It could be the fisherman.
2. I don’t stray from 2-3 places.
3. I usually go out at the worst time, mid afternoon. Too many skeeters in the evening. I have 8 bites on my right shoulder area from an attack last week. The love my sweet Cuban blood.
