With the rain tomorrow, and holiday weekend I figured today would be the best day to get out for the next few days. HT was at 9AM, so I planned to fish way back in the Pond if the water temp had come up. Got to the ramp at 7:30A and saw 3 MLF rigs, there's an event next weekend and they're here pre-fishing. Their rigs are pretty darn cool to see...4 to 5 big 12" screens, power poles, 250 4 stroke mercs, the whole 9 yards.
Water was still stained, but temps were up to 78, a big jump from 71 two weeks ago. I started with a Keitech Noisy Flapper but there wasn't much topwater action going on, so I switched to a plastic swimbait, rigged with a weedless underspin. That was the ticket, they wanted it just waking under the surface, and the water was way cleaned back here. I got a nice 2lber and then a 3.9lber along the grass edge and spatterdock. I also missed about 4 other hits, possibly snakeheads.
The water rolled out quick by 11AM and I was back in the channel throwing the swimmy against the stumps on the other side to no avail. Off the water by Noon....and saw this guy....crab traps at Mattawoman?

All this to catch a fish with a brain the size of a pea
Looks like you got the green fish figured out. With those fish you could be in the $$$

He had a hearing aid appointment so he couldn’t make it and I took a neighbor.

Could be Grinders heading down to Popes Creek. They run pots down there.

I went out with a guide in Maine while on vacation. Colored pots are all the rage for lobsters.
