Hit the 90's yesterday on the river. Cicada's were singing their mating songs. Raptors were everywhere. Good year for bald eagles - saw many immature ones flying. Herons were in the trees and on the river. Saw a bunch of baby birds on the water following Mama
So figured the fishing must be good too. 9 hours of pretty much nonstop action. The only time the action stopped was when I threw a fluke. Couldn't buy a bite. Swimbaits were key and the plus was on jigs I pour.
Lost count of the number of fish around 1030. Rest of the day was productive. Big fish came the first two hours
Did catch one fish that bent the rod in 1/2. Thought it was a carp, but turned out to be a monster cat with a head the size of a pit bulls. Should have grabbed the camera but I was totally slimed and just put it back in the water.

Thx!
Never had service on the river with my old fashion cell. I was in the middle of nowhere and had 4 bars.
Peepers were competing with the cicadas - good day to be on the water
