Upper Potomac 3/17/21

I saw an opportunity yo take my grandson, Emerson out for a few hours after school, so I picked him up and we got on the water a little after 3pm.  The weather was cool and cloudy (about 50) and the water was 46 and pretty clear.   We ran upriver and tried the rocks by an island, but no bites.  We moved around a little and finally started floating a larger island heading back.  We tried tubes, a jig and a ned rig.  I finally got a bite behind a small blowdown with the ned rig.  It was trying to be 13 inches.

We got snagged and tangled a few times, but that is to be expected.  I was hoping to get Emerson a fish, but he was happy with the 12" Subway sandwich I brought for him.  He is getting so tall!  We saw Ernie and Bob coming back from their expedition further upriver.

It was almost 6:00pm, so we headed back to the ramp to get out before dark.  It was good to get him out and he got some casting practice.
