Got out on Anna around 11:30 am for crappie about a mile from the house. Caught around 35 or so by 12:30. Had 4 nice keepers in the live well. Get a call from my wife who is looking out the window that birds are diving and a lot of water action out from our dock. Haul a$$ over there and birds are having a field day. Catch a 23 inch striper right off the bat. Put it in the cooler and dump the crappie. Birds shut down. About 20 minutes later I get slammed. Can't make up any line on this one......drag squealing. Eventually I make up some line and boat a THICK SHOULDERED 27 incher. What a battle! And that was it.....fish shut down and no birds for the next hour. Nice to have a wife as a scout to put me on fish where I could not see them!!!
