Bob and I had 2 plans. First, to fish for shad and see how the bite was. Second, go to Kanes Creek to fish for bass. We never made it to Kanes.
But it wasn't because the shad bite was hot.
We started slow and ended slow but still managed to catch 30 fishies. Bob kicked butt catching 20.
Most were herring...
...but a few shad.
Biggest was 15"!
Bob also caught a striper and towards the end, we got on top of a school of white perch but none big enough to get a pic. I think we caught 6-7 white perch.
There were many of these guys hanging around...
We called it around 1:30p. Hungry but not quite defeated.
We caught 7 shad (Bob got 5) so we got some. I am afraid it's the end of the run.
When we were coming in, we ran in to JMU Bass Fishing Team member, Charlie Ippolito who was president of the BRHS Fishing team for a couple of years. He has his own bass boat now and will be graduating JMU in 2021.

Always enjoy the fish pictures, but today the heron picture was outstanding. Great job!
