Bob had not been out all year so I told him to set a couple of days to get out this week. Then, the forecast was calling for 4-5 days of rain but it started getting better so we set up to go today. Only issue is that I forgot that I had a 2:45p doc appointment so it would be a shorter trip.

Bob said, "let's go!". So we did.

We were fishing by 8a and it was slow going to say the least.  Bob got the skunk off with a double but the shad came off and the white perch stayed on.

OK..skunk off.

Shad bites were few and far between no matter what we did.

Herring were biting (3-1 ratio) though...

Bob did end up with a close to 17'er...

While the fishing was slow (not sure we even got 20), it was great to get Bob out and even better to hear him yellin", "#*^@!?8!  "every time he missed a hook up. I missed hearing that for 6+ months...

Off the water just after 12p and made it to my appointment (after a shower). The good news is that the nose is finally healing properly (surgery was back in Sep.).

Water temp was 63-64df which should be ideal for shad. Not sure if they were hunkered down as we did have wind with an E on it. Or if they are leaving to go back to the ocean.

Regardless, great to get out!

Time to go fishin' again!
