Greg and I had tentatively set up to fish today depending on the wind forecast which looked dicey.

Good thing we didn't listen. We had to create our own breeze for most of the time we fished. Especially between 11a-1p. When did summer make its entrance? I like heat but not that fast!!

Anyway, we crossed the river and the ramp area looked good!

So we splashed the sled...

We headed down to some known areas but had ZERO bites for several hours.

We coincided to go on the VA side of Harrison Island and Greg got the skunk off the boat with a beast!

Well, one in the making anyway.

We kept trying different areas and nada. And we threw everything but the kitchen sink at 'em?

Water temp was around 60df most of the day. The river was 3.7-3.8at POR and the water had a slight stain to it.

We decided to run down to Goose Creek and I was able to take my skunk off with a little fattie!

Caught on a skirted ned w/ a Jacks Worm.

We even fished the rocks on both the MD and VA side below Goose.

Nothing.

We called it around 1p and headed back to White's Ferry where we enjoyed a decent Steak & Cheese sub.

Great day to be out...fishing was not that good.

We saw 2 boats, a couple of kayaks, a paddle boarder and the 1st jet skier of the year.

Good to see you got out. This weekend looks good weather-wise. I am sure it will get busy then. BTW, all my bites were in about a 1 hour window yesterday. Fish are scarce to be sure.

Fishing Thursday and Friday with Ernie this week was just what the Dr ordered. NEEDED TO FISH! and relax. Thursday Shad fishing was amazing. We were worn out (literally, both had sore muscles from all the pullage). Today was much more relaxed. Had a great time as always but only 2 fish. The relief on Ernie's face was priceless when we finally caught our fist fish after about 3 hrs. He was NOT looking forward to posting his skunk picture! Next stop Kane's Creek?

Must've been you guys I saw heading down the river while I was heading up the MD side. When I was coming out the creek in the morning there were two guys in kayaks coming in. One said that yesterday he hooked a muskie in the creek. He was dragged around for 8 minutes before losing it. He estimated it at 30".

It was slow for me too. The only fish I found were in one of the splits. Both from the same stretch and only a few minutes apart. Some stills from gopro video.

That yak is scootin' pretty good!

I actually looked for you while in Goose. There was a fella fishing out of a yak as he paddled back in the creek.

Good job catching a couple. Looks like you got a hemi in that thing! Pretty cool.
