5-14 LKA Stripers

Got out this morning before the sun got up and was surprised by an awesome sunrise reflecting off the lake as I was heading towards a spot to fish.

After the sunrise, it rained for pretty much the next 3 hours.  Fished a little over 3 hours and caught 3.......keeping a 23 and a 25 inch fish.

For those that have never seen it, when landlocked stripers do not spawn, the eggs become necrotic and turn green from the yellow ripe ones.  The necrotic eggs are reabsorbed into the fish.  Looks a bit gross, but the fish are fine to eat.

That sunrise picture is phenomenal. I bet it was even better in person! Nice fishies. Very interesting about the eggs.

We got sprinkles on the "O" for about 10 minutes.

Nice stripers!
