OK, not a fishing expedition but a fishing spot exploration...

I decided to do another hike today, this time I started from the east and ended up at the rocks on the UP.

It's a very nice trail with Lansdowne golf course on the left with the creek and Selden Island on the right.

There are many places to stop and fish.

The opening of Potomac Creek...

The Rocks....

I would suggest at least a M rod as you would have to lift a caught fish a long ways up at times.

I also suggest a walking stick, especially for the over 50 crowd, There a re a few steep embankments to negotiate. Would be tough with just a fishing rod in hand.

Total moving time was 1hr 13min and the distance was 3.85 miles.

I need to just hike and fish and not worry about heart rate by fast hiking.

That is like a really nice scenic time. It may not get your hear rate pumping, but being in nature like that is good for the heart and soul for sure!

For an old guy, a fast hike gets the heart up in the good zone. For you youngsters, not so much.

Nice looking walk. I have done walks from some park near there, but not that exact one. Fishing from high embankments or muddy banks is not very fun for me. I will likely check it out.

There were many safe fishing spots...but tight. Mud was not an issue in most places. A high bank was but not too bad.

The scenery is great...

I have fished that creek many times in my old jet boat. Caught many LGMouth in there and a few nice large crappie also. All on a sinking rapala..

Carl and I used to fish it...especially the mouth and in to Broad Run. Crappie galore!
