Bob and I were on the water before 7a and tried a few new places....to no avail!
Nice temps in the morning but no bites...not even down here!
We both got the skunk off (at 9a within 5 minutes of each other) when we floated the last third of my island (middle).
Bob's was caught on a small, chartreuse buzz abut.
Mine was caught on the Megabass wannabe knock off...it was 16.5"!
We then tried a few more places including XX but nothing.
Now it's around noontime and we have gone @ 3 hours without a bite so I decide to float the chute...not an easy task but immediately, after seeing a smallie chase bait up the shore, Bob gets slammed on his buzz bait. Yes, at noon! Nice smallie on but it comes unbuttoned...
He had a few more takes and finally nabbed a chunky 13.5"er!
I decide to do the drift again so we take a wide swath and start over. Up at the top, Bob got hit with a nice 14.5" LMB!
We ended up drifting the middle where I saw a smallie hiding in small tree trunk. He would not take my offering and took off.
We saw no fish roaming.
It was sloooow....only 4 fish caught from 7a to almost 2p.
Water temps were 75-75. River was mostly clear, a litt;e fuzzy at the MD side.
Time to take a break from these guys!

Wow, slow. That buzzbait bite in the daytime works when the water is shallow. Good job getting some!

As it has been all spring, bites have been hard to come by. That's very concerning.
