Today, I brought the Fishing Machine with me to see what's really up at the UP!
Curly and I were on the water shortly after 6a and we went to work.
Top of island...nothing. Ledges...nothing. Bottom of chute...nothing. Rock island...nothing
We then drifted DrX's island and at 8:22a, I finally got our skunk off with this massive 11.75"er!
Shortly thereafter, Curly got his skunk off as well.
Then, a nice 14.75"er!
Then he caught a LMB and a channel cat!
Then we decided to do the middle so we slowly motored out and we saw a smallie cruising in < 2' of water. Good sign? Maybe.
Curly did catch a few smallies (4 plus another cat) while we drifted.
Towards the end and I caught 1 more which happened to be the biggest of the day at 17"!
The larger fish were skinny but the smaller fish were plumper.
All of Curly's fish (8 total) came on a Smithwick Rogue jerk.
My 1st came on a soft weightless jerk and the bigger one on my Megabass wannabe hand painted jerk bait.
Water temps were 75.
It was nice out with little to no wind.
In by noon so I can get to docs office!

Nicely done, storms didn't impact water?

Not yet...some parts had a little stain but very good overall.
Tomorrow will show more stain and then Thursday will get latte.

Nice job! Jerk baits ruled! Bite is still off. I am getting out Friday with my grandson, so we will see how the river is by then.
