6-4-19, UP

Bob and I met up at 6:45a to try to get the pee hose to fit the little hole but that was not to be so we just ran cowlless.

We decided to try close by and I think we had one bite....maybe.

So up to the next spot and finally, at 8:45a, I got bit by a nice (spawned out) 17"er on a Zoom jerkbait (weightless).

I saw the next fish eat my lure and I brought him in. I think Bob would say that I am lying if I say he was 8"!

Bob then had one on small paddle tail but it got off. We did see it but didn't land it. He then caught his 1st one, close to 13'.

A while later, I managed a 16.5"er on a hula spider.

I had another one on that got off and I think Bob did as well.

At 11:30a, I got bit again (hula) and this one went17.5"!

All the fish were skinny (no girth) but tall. They were definitely spawned out.

And all of them bit my lure as soon as It hit the water so I think I hit them over the head with it.

Only the teeny smallies were chasing...

A very slow day indeed!

Water temps were in the low 70's and it was chilly (50) for the 1st few hours. There were no clouds (high pressure) and the wind kicked up around noon even though the weather experts said there would be no wind.

MD DNR stopped by and we had a nice chat. I think he was bored (was alone) so he stayed and yapped a bit. Nice guy and glad they are out there. He asked if we had a sound device and Bob yelled and scared the crap out of him!! I said, "are you asking if we are packing?". He just should have asked if I had a whistle or horn...

Still, a nice day out there!

Time to go fishin' again!
