Unbeknownst to me, John had never gone shad fishing before today. It did not take him long to figure things out!
I caught a few too.
We caught 30+ with John catching at least 25!! And his biggest was 17.5"...mine was 16.5" !
White, pink, chartreuse shad darts and spoons did the damage.
It was not fast and furious but it kept John giggling all morning. He had a good time!

Thanks for the guided trip, captain! I was impressed with the size and strength of the shad. I had shad darts I bought many years ago that I finally got to use. Great day for sure and thanks for sharing your last pre-op outing with me!

It was a nice day out and I fished under the pedestrian bridge. I didn't notice Ernie out there until the boat turned....I recognized the Rhino! A little too far for me to yell ERNIE!!! lol. The shad fishing is getting hot!

At one point, there were 8 guys under the bridge and 4 folks on the bank. It was not quite hot and heavy but when that water hits 50 (it was 48-49 yesterday)...look out!
Sorry I missed you!

Way to go fellas! I'm hoping to make it out during the shad run this year but that's looking not very likely right now

That seems to be the deal there. Noticed it last year too. Much fatter than Fletcher’s!
