I was supposed to fish the bay today but Capt. Fleming's boat took a snooze and needed some reviving. Knowing it was going to be a nice day, I reached out to Tyler (Greg too) and he was willing and able.
We were on the water by 7:30ish and on the way to the spot!
As one can usually predict, Tyler hooked up quickly (8a) with his 1st of 23 smallies for the morning!
And again and again and again!
This one was 19.25"
And a couple more until I finally scored.
And he kept on catching!
At one point, he had me down 17-3!!
And I got another kitty!
This next one was a 15 inch CHUNK! Fought like a freight train!
All the fish were fat and healthy and fought us hard.
This one was 12"....FAT!
We quit at noon...tired the boy out!
I caught 10 fish, nothing over 15" but a good day for us indeed!

Another awesome day, congrats guys. You're making me jealous. I can't wait to get on some smallies this year.

drxfish suggested the spot. Current breaks just off the shore. I suspect they are all sitting there waiting for the river to regress. It was 2 days of outstanding action.

Glad to see the boat proving what you designed it for. If the outstanding days of shad fishing combined with the last two days of smallmouths are any indication, the white perch are going to be a real treat.
