Virginia Beach again 4/22

Got on the water about 9pm on Friday. Found blues and schoolie stripers under some dock lights but no trout in my usual spots.
At one point I hooked into something really big. Fought it for 3 or 4 minutes and never really tired it at all before the hook finally pulled. It kinda felt like a drum but I'm guessing it was one of those gorilla blues that has been terrorizing the coast lately. Finally found one decent speck of maybe 22" and after that a bunch more small blues before I pulled out around 5am. I think the dirty water from all the rain really slowed the trout bite down, I was expecting a lot better. Still a nice long night. Kept 4 blues for the smoker and released everything else.

Nice report!! My coworker kayak fished at rudee this weekend and caught some monster blues. The 30" blue he fought for 5 minutes before ever seeing it. I'd guess yours was a blue as well.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.
