Tonight's trip started out with some very fishy edges that produced some very nice LGMouth. After the flood tide came in the fish just stopped hitting and as fast as they could headed way back into the pads. We watched many LGMouth get up on top of the grass and just swim right by the boat. So we changed to frogs and toads but they did not even strike. Had a few follows but it was like the feeding light was switched off. So we headed for fresh water. That produced some good hits and a snakehead that came un-buttoned very quickly.

Nice chunks! Weird about the topwater bite not picking up. I was thinking the weather was perfect.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Light sprinkle of rain and extra 1.8 feet of water over normal high tide. Opened up a huge area to fish. But no strikes till I moved just before dark. The snakeheads normally hit regardless if bait works right.. they did follow a couple of times but only 10 feet.
If I where to guess why, it would be the water temp drop from low to flood. Last area I fished was not flooding as fast. And we got hits there.
