I went out for a quick trip to near Chain Bridge in the morning. I lost some time fishing because I stopped by Katie's Coffee & Cars after seeing an Aventador behind me. I knew exactly where he was going. After driving by I saw another Aventador in the parking lot and I was like "OK I have to see this!" Good thing too because I saw a bunch of cars I haven't seen before! GT40, F40, Model T, Countach, Espada, Tesla Roadster...well worth it!
Haha anyways, on to what you came to read about. I was there for 90 minutes and had a tough time catching. I only had a few hits and landed 3 hickories, but they were relatively small. I snagged a few gizzards. One of them pulled a good amount of drag so I was really excited until I reeled it it. Still a good fight. I lost my shad darts on bottom so I was throwing curly tails on a jig. They were biting on chartreuse. It was great being out there. I love the scenery, and it was cool to see the thousands of herring swimming right at your feet.

Good stuff, thanks for the report.

Aventagor - that's some serious coin - nice to see them on the road

Pictures please.....

Sorry no pictures of the fish
This is a collage of the less common cars I have seen on the roads. This is just from last Saturday, I have more from other visits. There were tons of 911s (turbos and GT3s) and Ferraris (280, 355, 360, 430, etc), but I see them often enough in this area to not take pictures. Maybe one of these days we can have a meetup at KC&C then go fishing!
In order:
Ferrari F40
Tesla Roadster
Lamborghini Aventador
Ford GT40 (possibly a kit car, but still)
Lamborghini Aventador
Lamborghini Countach
Lamborghini Espada

Very nice....I am partial to American muscle cars. I was toying with buying a very nice 1970 GTO. Jeff and I chatted about it while fishing Saturday. He gave me a very effective look like "what are you going to do with it?".
Well, it's nice to think about it!

One week I went there were several guys with american muscle cars, one of which was a GTO ('70 or '71 I can't remember), and it was for sale Given how you can get at a fishing flea market, it might not be a good idea for you to go to one of these shows as they often have cars for sale

I like stopping by Katie's on Saturday mornings occasionally. It's usually conflicting with going to the race track or fishing.
A few weekends ago there was a 1929 Bentley.

I owned a GTO 1965 for about two weeks. His and hers, 6 pack and at 115 MPH the back window sucked out. After that it was handy for empty beer cans.
Open all the windows and just toss the can in the air and out the missing back window it went.
Traded it for a 442 1967 OLDS and that only lasted a month before trading for Ford Falcon Sprint 1963..
Never got that car legally on the road.
Sorry gee-zing again..

I bet that 442 was bad a##!

Yes it had a vertagate shifter and the hood was louvered. Baby blue and all it really needed was a Muncie trans and transblanket to make it drag ready.

I went the other way ... '63 356 Porsche bathtub, 1977 porsche 911, and a Manta Mirage-2
Mirage was a kit car, but way cool.
Then got out of cars & got a Kawi 500 triple which almost killed me, then a Suzuki GT 380, couple Yamaha RD-400Ds, and finally a Suzuki Gamma RG 250 grey bike. All 2-smokers. Wanted to get a 1967 Saab Sonett 2-stroke car, but the project was to much for a back yard mechanic like me.
I've driven down Great Fall's road allot & see rallys of increadable cars early in the morning heading off to a fishing hole.
Simply amazing to hear those gems roll by.

Oh this post is just loaded with trouble. I bought a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang last week....its in the process of being restored and I should have it on the road late July...watch for a Grabber Orange Mach 1 with black stripes...the one that will be putting along well under the speed limit.
Fishfry.
