I had that same black and white poster on my wall when I was 10, the one with him wearing the shoulder pads and holding the bat. The caption at the bottom read, "The Ball Player."

I believe he was one of the greatest athletes of his time, and was on his way to a HOF career in football before that devastating injury.

I always thought it was remarkable to watch guys like him and Deion Sanders play 2 sports professionally at the same time, and play them well. You don't see that much anymore. I guess pro teams these days make them choose one after college and stick with it.
