Denver - Rocky Mountain Arsenal

I gotta say i love it in denver... never thought i would be able to drive 15 min and be able to catch lunker bass and huge pike... the arsenal is a wildlife refuge that only allows fishing on tuesday, sat + sun and it is all catch and release... they have huge fish at these lakes and it is simply amazing

my first day there i caught a 4.6 and a 5lb lmb and two pike... one was 26in. and the other was closer to 30in. but he thrashed off as i was trying to get the hook out of his mouth...  the best part is the pike will crush a wacky rigged senko... no one throws this stuff because they all use big spoons and spinners or swimbaits

got a another big bass that was 4.11 lbs on day two and a small pike that was about 20in.

there are so many different species of fish to catch in metro denver... i also caught my first walleye that was about 15in... and there are some huge smallmouth out here... they are next on my list

Good to hear from you Brian. Great to see you are catching them out west. There is a lot of work to improve the fisheries in Colorado. It looks like you are a true beneficiary of that!

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!
