I want to go but cannot. I have Tri-State in the morning and a meeting at Petie Greens of the Moo"s.. drinking will happen and by the time I roll out there the long trek to the show will have me asleep. And I will never be able to drive home with visions of fish on a fly.
But dang I really want to go..
I did a show in 1994 I think in that town that was cancelled due to two feet of snow. The Bass Troth almost froze that day as a huge storm came down on us. 6 inches of snow fell on my drive home. Had a few days off work to warm up. 4 wheel drive saved me.

Fewer people will increase our chances on the door prizes!!!!! But not as many interesting people to talk fishing with.

Dang, it would be awesome if I won a rod to start my fly fishing addiction...I plan to take the Orvis classes this year. I don't like to gamble, and I never win, so I'll let you know about the tickets.

Ernie Tyler and I went to this. A nice SLOW drive in the ice/snow (thank you Ernie for driving your beast), good people, good films, and good prizes. Surprisingly young crowd and a lot of people showed up in the snow. Had a great time. I won a $250 day of fly casting instruction which I desperately need to keep up with Tyler's new addiction to fly fishing. Tyler and Ernie snagged a few door prizes thrown out to the crowd. Had a great time! Some of the films were political. One was about Cuba and the new US initiative to open it up. Unfortunately it was more like a Communist propaganda film. Ernie was justifiably unhappy. But the amazing fishing in Cuba eventually overcame his emotions. They also had a Global Warming film I think both of us could have done without. But the rest of the films were really amazing and put a perma-smile on our faces for the rest of the night.

Good thing no one in the crowd was wearing a Che shirt....could have been some trouble!
It was a great time indeed but next year I will bring a seat cushion!
