First Snakehead trip of the year produces!

Finally got the boat out for the first time this year.  Was fishing Belmont Bay area by 7:30 am.  Pesky bass kept getting on my mouse.....but I did connect on 2 nice snakeheads.....8 lbs 1 oz and 8 lbs even.......both 28" long.

This one completely swallowed my mouse!  Can't even see it.....but, nice teeth!

Better photo of their colors before the fillet board.

Great catch!

I may have to launch the yak and chase bass and snakeheads next weekend. It's been way too long since I've fished the Potomac.

Swim it back by bouncing it on top with pauses (easiest)..........or try to get it to go side-to-side like a Zarra Spook (takes a lot of practice).
