6-17-14, Breton Bay

Had a great invite from Scott McGuire to do some evening white perch fishing.....I accepted quickly as it had been a long time since I sunset fished!

We were on the water by 5:30p and started the trek to take my white perch skunk off!

It didn't take long for Scott to hook up.

He was using a teeny Kastmaster and was jigging/swimming it. He caught 4-5 perch before I got my 1st one....I was beginning to wonder if these perch were trained differently. I was using my typical feathered jig spinners.

Skunk off!

OK...not so big but that was my 1st white perch for 2014!

This area was not only fishy but had great scenery!

Scott then went to look for an underwater rock pile that he knew held some fish. While looking, I noticed the shoreline and Scott saw a new to him rock pile. We went over to it and proceeded to catch a bunch of perch including this blak back 11 incher!

Our time was limited and he wanted to show me a striper spot across the Potomac River. We had a little wind but not enough to keep us from going over in his 18' CS DLX (very nice boat by the way).

Even though the spot looked very fishy, the stripers were not there today.

We then headed back and fished a couple more areas where we steadily caught perch.

It was a great trip....learned a few things and saw some new water (to me) that I will need to revisit.

Scott AKA Crowbait is an excellent fisherman and lots of fun to fish with.
