Mo wanted to see if the white perch were in the shallows so we went on down to a new area. We put in at Holiday Hill Marina on Whitemarsh Creek which flows into the Rhode River eventually ending up at the Chesapeake Bay just south of the Severn River.
Some nice scenery as we made our way to the mouth of the river.
And the unmistakable Mo smile!
They were calling for 14-24mph wind....they were right! But we were able to pick apart some very fishy areas. Only problem is that there were no fish home. We actually got out on the bay and drifted some hard bottom areas but no takers there as well.
We even found some nice shorelines tat were reminiscent of other places we catch at. We got our butts kicked by te wind so we decided to try inside. We did that for a while but it was evident that the perchies are not yet in the shallows up that way. That was confirmed by Robbie, a local salt, who said they are not here yet. He said maybe in 2 weeks. Maybe so.
They are late for sure!
And no, this was not the reason for the skunk....
We were exited when we started....Mo wanted to use his new clicker....given to him by a fishing buddy.
We came back in early and of course, we found a pretty good BBQ place! All is good!

Too bad about the lack of fish. I just came back from BBQ myself. Nice day!

I was hard to fish with ultra lights....we did manage to escape the wind at times though. Still, Mo and I were glad we made the exploratory trip....

I bought Carl one of those clickers a while back. I don't know what ever happened to it.
Looks like a good spot guys. I can't wait to start seeing some white perch reports

The bay sure has a lot of tributaries, I'd never even heard of the Rhode river before. Nice pics!
