Tried to launch the boat after work yesterday and was unable to. There is a layer of 2-4" of mud all the way up the ramp! Had to turn around and head back home, there was already one trailer stuck down in the mud.

Chains. I often run into this problem in the winter. I'd feel a lot more confident if I had chains on my tires just for the boat ramp. We've almost lost two trucks at the same time because of this. Check out the tributaries. They should be clear and fishing well.

I would also recommend you checking the river guages for flow. At this flow, boating on the 'mac may be hazardous to your health.
I ran up to POR once when their guage read 9' and got the bottom of my boat 'tickled' by a submerged tree. Probably not the safest thing I've ever done.

I checked the gauges and it was in the safe range for what we usually do. The mud was left there from when it flooded.
Has anyone seen the occoquan ramp? I want to put in there saturday...
