Got out as the sun came up and it was very chilly. Put on a sweatshirt and headed for where I thought they would be stacked up this morning after all the recent rain. Figures they would be off a wind-blown point in 5-8 feet of water after last night's cold snap and muddy conditions. Put on a suspending CB and whacked one 10-12" bass after another.........but no big fish. Switched to my favorite blue/black P&J and the rest is history.............and I mean History!
20.25" and 5.12 lbs
19.0" and 4.25 lbs
21.0" and 5.3 lbs
19.0" and 4.06 lbs
18.25" and 3.75 lbs
Total weight for top 5 bass = 22.48 lbs (97.5") Best day I've ever had on these lakes in 22 years. It is one morning that I will not soon forget.

You were probably still in bed when I whacked them this morning!

Congratulations, Curly. With all of the time and effort you put in, you deserve to be the "all-time best" at AVL. And even better is your willingness to help others learn to fish better.

That is so awesome. I'd have to say the lakes are fishing very well this spring. I got two over five and you have 5+ now.
