Not much to show for a great day on the water with Trent and John. Both stuck with the fly to the bitter end.
We met up around 7 and were on the water shortly after that.
We did have to take a detour to take care of but that really did not slow us down.
I was using conventional tackle but it was slow. I was finally rewarded with a nice young, fat striper!
This may be one of the coolest boats out there....7 outboard engines!
We found some really fishy, moving water and John was able to land this 12.25" Yellow Perch on a deceiver. Hungry rascal!
Around noon the hungry bell went off and we were treated to some Italian Store subs!
Not too shabby!
Trent scored this mussel....
....and then got 2 snails on 1 cast. He was dredging a fly and the snail sucked in the line. The other one bit the hook. I have never seen anything like that and I should have taken a picture.
We made a few moves, recovered a crankbait for a young fella that waded out to fish a duck blind. He was in shorts. He was young. The water was < 60 degrees!
We had a good time out there despite the slow fishing. Another boat, fishing like we were, picked up 3 stripers.
Back at it again tomorrow!

I was happy just to catch that one lonely striper. The river was hot the week before.
