A kayaker was shot while on a MD creek last night (4/12)

This is not good....way too close to home!

A man on a kayak was shot in the stomach while on Bodkin Creek last night.

The kayaker tells police he was paddling on Bodkin Creek in Anne Arundel County, MD sometime Saturday night, he is not sure what time. He saw a camp fire on the shore and heard kids making noise. Then he noticed a red dot on his stomach, like a laser pointer. Soon after, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

He say he did not make it back to shore last night. Around 10:30am Sunday morning, he was found on the shore by an area resident. He was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

The man is 56 years old and from Reston, VA. He has relatives in the area where he was kayaking.

MD DNR police are with him at the hospital interviewing him.

Unbelievable!  Hopefully they catch the hooligans.  Who would have thought that you would need a carry permit for kayaking!
