Paul Najdzin and I met up at 5am. We launched out of Lander and ran up through sawbuck ledge to fish "Penrod's Pool"
We were both throwing buzz baits and top water plugs. This one hit as the bait hit the water, so we didn't get to enjoy the explosion, but it gave a nice fight. (beautful Colors!!)
Paul quickly followed up with this nice bass. It hit his plug a few times before getting the bait. We soon found out why.
Other then that the fish was healthy and swam away strong when released.
The bite was pretty slow, but a great morning on the river. We only caught around 20 together in 4-5hrs, but the ones we did catch had some size to them.

It was a fun trip, thanks Jeff. I think we've gotten easily spoiled by this fishery. I said to Jeff that it's funny that we caught 20 fish between us and thought that the fishing was slow.
One interesting note is that the percentage of little guys below 10 inches was pretty small and I think I got most of the small ones we did catch. ;-)

That eye is kind of gross!!! Is it some sort of infection??

Hi Karina
The eye looked like it was injured, but not infected. It looked healthy other then the blind eye.

Hi Karina,
Agreed. The fish was a healthy fish and I suspect that was the result of an injury.
