Lake Havasu on Feb 16th, 2014.  Borders Arizona/California on the Colorado River.

I can't imagine what it would be like to catch a 2lb sunfish, let alone a 5. Amazing.

I've caught some big redear in private lakes in southern CA.  With the warm weather, they grow all year.

Don't believe that it will make it.  Someone caught a 5 lb. 8.8 oz. out of Lake Havasu in 2011.  I watched the previous world record being weighed in at Santee-Cooper Reservoir on Easter Weekend in 1998.  It weighed in at 5 lbs. 7 oz.  Looked like it would overflow a turkey platter. What a fish!

That one does look nice though.

5.80 lbs = 5 lbs 12.8 oz...........should make it by 4 oz.
