Ha! I have good clothing but a bad will to fish when cold. Once I am out there, I even shed a few layers.

Hmmm...it is usually a few degrees warmer down south (Anna). Let me know what day(s) might be good for you.

Re: Fishing during Christmas break.....

Sometimes the urge to fish trumps weather. Twice I've seen Ernie fish in sub freezing temps and enjoy every minute of it. Both days were windy and one even had horizontal snow. Wind chill had to be teens both times, those big old cigars must put out some serious BTUs

Not near the dykes. Should be nice and clear and then stained near the splits.

Re: Fishing during Christmas break.....

Bigger stripers will not be down at the dykes yet.  They have been up the rivers above the splits the last 2 weeks.  Gill net survey that I helped VDGIF do 2 weeks ago had all the stripers up in the rivers.............Nada a striper over 10" caught down at the dykes.  All the warm rain will probably keep them uplake for a while.
