7-20-08 Patuxent River - Broomes Island

This morning at 6:30 AM Luan Thai and I launched in search of white perch. By 10:00 AM we had boated seventy five  with forty in the cooler. Most of them were under the self imposed eight inch limit but there was one at nine and half, one at ten and a half and one at eleven and a half. The only odd ball was one eleven inch croaker. We did not catch any other species. The water was good looking and the shoreline was clean. The one strange thing that I noticed was how shallow the river was. Everywhere we fished was two or three feet deep--even two hours after high tide. We left at eleven AM-- the heat was unbearable.
