July 7 th Report

The trip tonight was a blast with many great strikes and a couple of missed Potomac Pike here and there. Red sky followed by a full rainbow.. last hour of fishing was on fire.. Got blown around by the wind and rained on but the fish did not mind.
Bob got his 1000 casts in and will get his Potomac Pike soon. Just keep casting...it will happen.

Re: July 7 th Report

Day 4 straight was a blast but I have never missed so many fish on one trip.

I even had one get off boat side that looked like he was hooked right. I went to hoist him in and "splash"...back in the water we went.

We had a bunch of laughs...

I had 3 PPs hooked and one that tarponed on my bait but it was still lots of fun despite the rain delay.

Re: July 7 th Report

Good seeing Ernie and Bob again.  Man what a rain delay was.   I had my dad take a picture of my big PP.  Later,  I caught about a 3-1/2 pound bass and held it out and took the picture myself.  When I hit the button to take the picture it makes the sound of a shutter opening and closing.  My dad says,  "when I took the picture of the snakehead,  I didn't hear that sound."  So,  guess what I don't have a picture of?  As soon as the clouds came,  the hits did certainly pick up.  I had another big PP hit and not take.  I know it was a PP because he actually did a porpoise move on the surface.  Out of the water and then back under.

Re: July 7 th Report

After four in a row it's hard to believe we aren't fishing. Yesterday evening was the icing on the cake, nothing to do but eat, drink and fish. I really enjoyed doing all three. Caught some, missed some and had a few that missed me. After seeing some snakeheads, now I even want to catch one more. Maybe next time. As for the rain delay, it cooled things off a little, let Capt Mike clean his boat, and check his bilge pump, and best of all it gave us a brilliant sunset that E's pics don't do justice.
