Jeff, Curly and I left Ashburn at 5:15a and by 6:40, we were on the water.
It was a spectacular weather day!
As we motored out of the creek, I wanted to check out a spot where Mo once caught a 13 incher (it was high tide). At 1st, we did not catch 'em but id did not take long to get some up to 11.25"!!
Plus and undersized striper and croaker!
Skunk is off for everyone so I gave then some options. The 1st stop only produced 1 perch so we decided to run to the other side of the bay. The ride was pleasant and before long, we ran into the live lining fleet.
We ran into Capt. Carl Brown and his mate Lee. They were having a good time LLing and caught their limit in no time. We bid them good bye and then we started jigging up fish, from 21 to 26"! The screen looked like spaghetti!
We too had a magic hour and limited out in no time. We threw back many keepers including this nice 24 incher!
The bite slowed down as the tide flattened out so we went over to Poplar to see if any big perch were hanging around at the rocks. They were not so we made a move back to the fleet. On the way, my screen showed some fish on the bottom, They looked like croaker but then the screen was nothing but spaghetti again. We caught 3-4 nice ones really quick and then they were gone.
Now it was time for some more white perch. We had a few in the tank but we wanted more....
At 1st, we drifted in 3-4' of water and plucked out a few but dew keepers. Since we drifted over by a dock, we decided to fish it. Good idea! We caught many a perch including many keepers.
Then we moved to Mo's Hole. Here, we slammed them!
I was too busy to take pictures, here is the only one......
....right under this guy!
Who was not happy with us.
We caught some nice WP including some at 12.5"!
We moved out a bit and continued to catch them but Mo's Hole was the place to be. One time Curly said. "I think we fished this place out" so we moved to another dock and caught a few. But then we came back and slammed them again.
Finally, we said, "enough"!. It was 1:30p and we still had to stop for BBQ. We each ordered rib tips and they were great!
Here are the best perch!
What a day!

It was a great day to be out with Ernie and Jeff. The 24-qt cooler was 3/4 full of stripers and perch........just enough room for ice to keep them cold on the way home.

Good fishing everywhere yesterday it seems.

We did another trip today
Capt. Carls' 60th bday
We hammered the spot in the Choptank but then only got 3 stripers in the boat. We each had one come off via the circle hook turning into the bait instead of the striper. Never heard of or seen that before. grrr.
Slow bite then it stopped. nice day !

Great stuff - hard to beat a nice mess of perch and a day of jigging up healthy rockfish. Looks like you had absolutely perfect weather to boot.
