5/16/13 Start of summertime bassin'

Thai and I met up to fish the Potomac together for the first time this year. We took his new boat which worked very well.

We caught a bunch of fish, especially Thai. Lots of fish on shallow cranks and even some more on topwater mice. Thai caught a big snakehead on the mouse and I caught a smaller one on the shallow crank. We towed mine back to the ramp because I didn't want to mess with treble hooks and a thrashing snakehead in the little boat. We ended up giving it to some fisherman at the ramp.

Here are some pics!

The good news is that we were catching on the usual summer patterns already which is my favorite way to fish. Time for frogs and toads!

Nicely done gents! And I agree, I love summertime fishing but I am hankering for white perch!

I fish on a boat like that when I visit my buddy Joe in FL. Amazing how little but how comfortable and maneuverable.

Time to go fishin' again!

The grass is not yet emerged which is good because a lot if where we fished was much shallower than last year. We would have had a lot of problems if we would have had to deal with grass and the shallow water.
