Good deal on TFO rods....

Picked this up on another Forum:

Reeds has TFO Signature Rods buy one get one free. That's only 50 bucks a rod! Plus you get a free hat.

Re: Good deal on TFO rods....

I own a TFO fly rod a it's excellent!

I do not know much about theses other that Gary Loomis designed them. As well, I did see & touch a few at the show this weekend and they seemed fine.

If I was in the market, they would be on my list. But....I think I will keep away from this sale....in  a few weeks I will be posting a before and after pic of 5 rods that are being worked on.

I can't get past anything free, even if it costs money to get it. I'll have my free hat in a week  roll

Re: Good deal on TFO rods....

I have a 6'6" heavy power fast action saltwater series rod that I got on sale from Sierra Trading post. That site is dangerous! It seems pretty similar to the freshwater series.

Anyway, it works well for jigging stripers and I have been using it on my last few trips. I like the action on the rod and it will fish 1/2-2oz just fine.

Re: Good deal on TFO rods....

Wish the TFO Lefty Kreh Signature series fly rods were buy one get one . . . Awesome rods for the price (<$130), and an awesome lifetime warranty. I have learned car door vs. fly rod or ceiling fan vs. fly rod, fly rod never wins.

The free hat showed up today, not bad, though it's not a color I would have chosen. It would look better on a fly rodder.

OH!... the rods came too, real nice.  That free hat will cost a fortune by the time I get 2 new reels and line to put on the rods. Might have to wait for the reel trade-in coming soon at Bass Pro. With that and the gift cards I've stashed I might get off lucky.
