Upper Potomac 7/3

Fished out of Lander with a friend from 11:30am to 3:00pm. Not the ideal time of day...HOT, HOT, HOT but you gotta go when you can. Water level was very low with POR gage showing 1.25 at mid-day. Between us (and my friend had most of these) we caught one largemouth, 8 smallmouth (most between 13"-16"), and 2 large sunfish (full palm size). All fish came on either plastic craws or tubes in various colors, and most fish were caught between the launch ramp and the power lines on the MD side.

First kayaking trip in 10 weeks due to some surgery, so it was great to be out again. No pics to show because I couldn't reach the camera as I had put it in an inaccessible spot on the kayak...that's what the long layoff did to my memory/routine. Oh well...next time.

Re: Upper Potomac 7/3

Good work Bruce.

Hot as it might be, I never feel it on a yak. You can dangle the feet or do some wading to cool off. As a matter of fact, kookup does a full body immersion to cool off.

Glad you got to go.....

Time to go fishin' again!
