All year I've wait for a solid top water river fluke bite.
Don't get me wrong, I love the tic a small mouth bass makes when they take a tube or a jig, but ripping a fluke across the water and having a decent size smallie explode on the bait is a rush.
It's on. Saturday I got about 30 fish on a white fluke. Most of the time I just rip it across the water, then let it die, then repeat the process. Fish were divided between hitting it dead sticking and others exploded on the bite.
Most of the smallies were between 14-16", biggest one of the day for me was 17", and a few dinks. Mostly I throw big flukes, so it culls out the dinks.
Everything came on a pearl fluke.

George is a smallie nut....he has several 20"+ that he has caught over the years. The lures that he caught them on hang on a shelf in his garage.
