Jeff and I were on the water fishing by 7:30 am. Started out in the Pohick area around wood, but no bites. Ran up to Dogue Creek and Jeff gets the skunk off with this bass.
No more bites in Dogue. Next fished the gravel banks between Douge and Pohick.............no luv.
Moved to the Greenway flats and Jeff gets a small bass and I catch a needlefish.
Go to the ramp and meet up with Ernie, Dan, and Mo. No real plan is made and we head for the Pohick south point. I catch a small bass on a P&J on a sandy bottom in 5'. We move a little more and I get a nice 16"er in 3-4' on the same jig.
4 bass and a needlefish, so we call it at 1:30 because the thunderheads began building.........got home before the rain.
Oh yeah, we did look for stripers too and trolled for them for around 30 min.........no marks and no bites.
Great to be back on the water after 8 weeks!

One time Thai and I saw a snakehead at that dock in the first picture and probably fished it for 45 minutes trying to get him to bite. That is a very snakey spot in the summertime.
