I got a vise and some jig/fly tying equipment for my birthday and tied my first ever jigs and flies by looking at videos on youtube which are very helpful. Here is my first batch of homemade lures.
hair jig
Crawfish imitation
Crappie/panfish jig
streamer
After making my fist lures i had to try them out so i got out fishing for an hour and got 2 bass on the first hair jig. That is the best feeling to know that you made something that fish like. Here are the 2 bass.
My first ever bass on a homemade lure.
second bass
I cant wait to make more lures!!

Nice work....let me know when you start taking orders.
Are you using "Hard as Nails" on your thread work?

I always use it on most any fly/jig that I get. It protects the thread from coming loose after getting bit a few times.

Ok thanks for the tip!! I will do that from now on. Is it just a nail polish sealant or something?

Yep...go to where nail polish is sold.

Nice ties.
Fly cement works nicely.
I use hard as nails though, since a bottle's $3 and lasts forever.
You do not need to use both.

Very nice ties, I especially like the black and blue ones. Congrats on catching your first fish on a homemade lure as well, hopefully there will be many more.
I did a jig tying video with my friend Kevin, it's on his website and on Youtube. That may have been one of the ones you watched.
