I was hoping to get out on the upper Potomac at the end of the week. But NOAA is predicting POR to be at 10ft by Thursday. Weather will be nice too.

What level do you guys think is safe for a newcomer (6 trips w/kayak so far)?

3ft or below At POR for me. I don't like go if it is above 5, if I do it's Broad Run or Goose Creek.
and that's in a boat. Summer time is a diferent story. Cold water scares me.

I'm not saying I'm going out. I'm saying I'm disappointed that I can't since the water will be high. Looks like it will be cresting even higher than predicting.
It looks like Goose Creek will be back to normal by Saturday. The river being higher may slow the flow too down by Kepheart.
