PRSC- Steve Chaconas, John Odenkirk to Discuss Snakeheads on 10/19

At our October meeting on Wednesday, the 19th, we are very fortunate to have two expert speakers discussing the impact of snakeheads on the Lower Potomac as well as tactics for catching them.

Captain Steve Chaconas brings 25 years of experience to his bass fishing guide service on the Potomac River. He has been featured locally and nationally in TV, radio, and print.  He was the Fox Sunday News Power Player of the Week for two years! He is a recognized expert source on the Potomac River and is featured on WTOP radio and many DC TV stations.

John Odenkirk is a Senior Fisheries Biologist with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, and he is a Certified Fisheries Scientist through the American Fisheries Society. John was born and raised in Northern Virginia and grew up fishing local water such as Burke Lake and Pimmit Run. John has been involved in tracking and studying the Northern Snakehead since its appearance in 2006 and is very familiar with the Snakehead’s behavior and preferred locations.

Meeting starts at 7:30 PM at the Vienna Fire Station, 400 Center St., Vienna, VA

Everyone welcome!
