Fishing the Chickahominy River

Im going down for a tournament on the Chick River, im fairly new to running it and fishing it, does anyone have any advice?

I fished the river once with Charlie Taylor. The river is very diverse. We pitched brush hogs a lot. We also threw spinner baits in the feeder creeks. Maybe Charlie will see this and tell you a few secrets.

You can have a lot of success in the pads. Remember that it is a tidal fishery, so be aware of the changing tides. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, frogs, and soft plastics should be in your arsenal. If you have electronics, look at the feeder creeks for channels and ditches.


If it were easy, they'd call it catching!
