Crap. I wonder if the UP will be affected differently than the TP considering their differing characteristics. No way that thing made it up Great Falls so people must still be releasing them.

Yeah....I think it's possible they made it up on their own. or an egg could've beeen carried there by a bird or something.
I feel like they're a definite threat to the UP.

Odenkirk speculates that they may have traveled via the C&O canal system during floods..........

There were some unconfirmed reports that they were in the Monacacy River which is just below where this was supposedly caught....

I wonder if the mix would be different than the one in the lower Potomac. Would they eat smallmouth that require very rich O2 water.
Seems to me they are more into slack waters and stagnet waters in the low O2 range. Preying upon frogs and small bluegill as there major forage.
Also the spawn of a snakehead is quick, lasting maybe a day or two before fry hatch. The fast water would not support that and could wash fry right away from Momma who protects them.
If they did survive and thrive it would be in every feeder creek or pool.
Just my thoughts...

The way the water has been moving this year, if they were hatched at whites ferry at 6 am, they would be at the pentagon by noon!!!
