4-9-08 Flecthers report

I went out with a friend to try for stripers at Fletcher’s. We launched at gravely and had to run up to fletchers boat house so he could get a DC license. We got out to the cove around 7:15am. One of the boats was landing a nice striper so we decided to anchor and fish with some smelt while we tried for fresh bait. The other boat landed another nice striper and we had not caught a white perch or herring, so we ran down to windy hollow run to catch some bait. The white perch were thick and we caught many doubles, but we were after striper so we ran back to Fletcher’s with our bait. Guess what, the bite was over. The only other fish we saw was a foul hooked shad.
Things didn’t work out so great striper wise, but it was nice to be on the water. I had to leave at 11:30am to get to work.

Excellent!  Curly is up there right now and has caught a few herring. He said he would call me if anything happens!

I won't be back on that part of the river until the 25th!!   mad

Re: 4-9-08 Flecthers report

At around 10 AM, Curly caught a 38", 23 lb rockfish and safely released it!

I am sure we will have a full report later today.
