Fishing Guide/Conservationist Captain Dennis Fleming of Fishamajig Guide Service will be the guest speaker for January meeting. Dennis will warm the room with tales of Maine smallmouth fishing, Chesapeake Bay striped bass, fishing hotspots, techniques and tips as well as the politics of fisheries management!
Captain Dennis has been fishing in the Washington metropolitan region since 1972 for every species that swims. He is currently a light tackle fishing guide in the Chesapeake Bay based out of Solomons/Pt. Lookout. He is an avid smallmouth fisherman as well having fished most eastern rivers as well numerous trips to Ontario, Quebec, the Boundary Waters and Maine. He is also an avid panfisherman, spending many hours each spring in pursuit of yellow perch and crappies!
He is an avid conservationist in the Southern Maryland. He is the President of the Mason Springs Conservancy, former President of CCA Southern Maryland, and appointed by Gov. O'Malley to the Potomac River Fisheries Commission. By day he is the Environmental Resources Manager for Charles County Government and an expert on waste management and recycling programs!
Meeting starts at 7:15 PM at the Vienna Fire Station on Center Street in Vienna VA and is open to everyone!

If you ask him, he may tell you a bit about fishing the power plant (Morgantown).
This will be a good seminar......

He's just as likely to tell you don't bother, there's nothing there.. :-)

I'm confined to quarters. Wife just had knee replacement. It's like having 2 puppies to deal with. Take Black Jack out for a walk then walk her around the house. Have to feed and water them both and listen to them whine. I'm lucky to have a minute to catch up on Pacemaker, and that's only because it's winter. Guess I should be grateful that she got it over with now instead of waiting till spring. BTW... any reference to me and the previous message will be vigorously denied.

Now that is funny!
Make sure she does her rehab.....it will make for a nicer future. I can say that with experience and confidence. I am getting close for my right knee. The doc wanted to take t in '06...I may get 1-2 more years, we'll see!

Thanks for posting Jeff!
I had a fun day.....spent 4 hours in a plane....took off from DC and went to NY and back several times due to the weather. But we only landed once...in DC, where I started! At least I got in front of the traffic and made it home by 12:30 before it all came apart.

Ernie, sounds fortunate!
Bob & Ernie, that place is a bust, no fish there at all ;-) Only a few more weeks then H&L goes in and I can keep fish up to 36". Been craving some fresh fish lately, guess too much forum reading and all those NC pictures.
